Morning departure from Split, Pick up at the place of your accommodation at 9.00/9.30 am. An hour’s drive from Split is the beautiful Dalmatian seaside town of Šibenik – the oldest Croatian city on the Adriatic coast. Šibenik is the youngest of the Dalmatian cities and takes great pride for being founded by the Croatian kings. Not many cities can boast a UNESCO heritage site. Šibenik has two! Its cathedral of St. James has been on the list since 2000 and St Nicholas’ fort since 2017. Over the centuries it’s been the home to acclaimed inventors, scientists, actors & sports people and the relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere adds to its overall charm. During the tour, we will visit St Jacob Cathedral, one of a kind monument on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Made of stone exclusively, its unique constructions were both bold and unusual for that time. The cathedral, the Renaissance town hall, the Prince’s castle, the neighboring churches, and palaces – all are a part of a remarkable square, often cited as the most beautiful one in Croatia.

After Sibenik, we will take a short drive inland where is the charming rural village of Stankovci. Where you will discover a small ethnic museum, delicatessen shop, vineyard, olive grove, simply a gastronomic heaven spread out on 7000 square meters. A local man runs a family run establishment making award-winning prosciutto. He shows & explains the whole process and you’re invited to try your hand at cutting your own slice and complementing it with homemade cheese, bread, season vegetables, and domestic Merlot wine. The combination of a pleasant interior,  culinary specialties makes the meal in this taverna fine surprise, while the variety of other property parts make it the ideal destination for every nature, history and countryside lover. The drive back to Split is on local roads seeing the charming Dalmatian countryside.

Keep in mind:

A delicious lunch can be organized at an authentic farm to table restaurant to try some of the best traditional Dalmatian cuisine!
