We are leaving Split for a day trip to the Pelješac Peninsula and the town of Ston. After 2 hours drive to our first stop in the Medieval town of Ston famous for the longest stone wall in Europe (5.5 km), salt cultivation farming and oyster growing farms, since Roman times. Ston oysters are acknowledged natural aphrodisiac and made this region world famous. Driving across the Pelješac peninsula, we’ll discover one of the most famous Croatian wine growing regions. Sandy soil and a maximum of sunlight are creating a primary condition for some of the top quality Croatian red wines. We will have the opportunity to visit one of the local family wineries and try some of the best wines in the region.

After time in Ston town we have an optional visit to the local winery and oyster growing farms. Ston oysters are acknowledged natural aphrodisiac and made this region world-famous. Here we have an option to set up a boat tour and tasting at the local family-owned farm. Panoramic boat ride on a beautiful wooden boat through the Bay of Mali Ston and presentation of the local man running is an absolute must-do while in Croatia. If you like oysters you will find Yourself in an oyster paradise. After the oyster tour, we have an option to visit a local winery ”Miloš’‘.  The production of grapes and wine in Ponikva on the peninsula of Pelješac has been a Miloš family tradition for many generations. Production is based on the indigenous variety of Plavac Mali. Today, Miloš winery owns 15 hectares of vineyards on some of the highest quality positions of the Pelješac peninsula. Miloš vineyards are situated between the steep cliffs of the Prapratno bay and the village of Ponikva. Miloš winery is specialized in the production of exclusive wine from Plavac Mali variety. They make a selection of grapes based on the position and preparation of the vineyard, the year of the harvest, way the grapes were picked, the weather and clearly the technology in the cellar. This means that every type of wine demands a different procedure. In Miloš winery they make different types of wine: dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet, and natural dessert wines. In the family-owned house, we have a presentation and tasting from the owner. Refreshed after local winery experience, we are going to have lunch in one of the local restaurants and you will try the traditional Croatian cuisine. After lunch,  we are continuing the trip towards Dubrovnik and expected to arrive in Dubrovnik at 4.00 pm.
